Nick has successfully made it out to Maryland and survived 2 whole days of living in a completely empty apartment. Nothing but his suitcase and computer. Our things aren't going to make it until Monday - The last possible day they told us they would be out here and Nick's first day of work. Super inconvenient. Oh well. As Tim Gun says, he'll "make it work".
Luckily we chose our apartment because of its location. It is within walking distance of nearly everything you could need. A library with internet access, several redbox kiosks to rent movies to watch on the laptop, a mall, Target and Giant grocery store for a towel, pillows, shower curtain, small frying pan, air mattress, etc. Since he's walking, he's only able to carry a bit home at a time, so it's given him something to do during the day. I think he''ll be all shopped out by the time I get out there.
It has been a challenge for him to find a variety of foods he can eat without any pots, pans, utensils, dishes, etc. But he's creative with food, so I think he's up to the challenge.
As for me, I'm currently prepping my mom's downstairs family room/office/sewing room for a much needed new paint job. I'll share pictures of the end result (if it turns out okay).
** A few fun things we've discovered this week:
1-Nick is exceptional at limbo. Who'd have thought.
2-The Target in the MD mall is two stories and has a special cart escalator. That's something to make going shopping a little more exciting!

Ahh, he really is on the East coast! Our Target has that same type of escalator, and we love Giant! Sorry we're not quite close enough to help out. Good luck on Monday, Nick!
Are you kidding me? An escalator in a 2 story Target?! Whoa! That's crazy! I want to visit a Target like that:).
HAHAH!! that is how our Target is here too. I love TARGET so much! Sorry about the no furniture thing. Hope fully it will all work out!
I can't believe you're leaving soon!! Can we get together before you're gone? Sorry about the scrapbook thing. I called you back, but we haven't connected yet. If you need me to take the stuff back, I can.
We are so excited that you guys are going to be on the East coast with us! Congrats on the job thing!!! Good luck to Nick. David is living limbo life for 8 weeks. It stinks!! Our target has the same cart thing. Strange huh? Good luck with the move, etc.
Hey Em!! It sounds like things are pretty crazy for you guys. That is very exciting that you are moving to MD! That will be a fun new adventure. That Target looks awesome, by the way.
