Life has been crazy the past few weeks. I haven't been great at taking pictures, and the ones I do have are stuck on my camera (can't find the cord). So, follow the links to my sister's blog posts if you want a few pictures to see of the family events. I'll update more once we're all settled and have pictures of our own.
Here's what we've been doing:
Grandpa's 94th Birthday!
We have really enjoyed living with him for the past three years. It has had its challenges, but I wouldn't change that time with him for anything. I feel like the luckiest girl ever to have had that time, and to have had Nick share in it. We are truly going to miss him. It breaks my heart to think of leaving him there alone. If anyone knows a great couple who wants cheap rent in exchange for feeding him three times a week and watching out for him, let me know.
Memorial weekend!
This has always been a favorite holiday for me. My grandma loved her family and we visited graves with her every year. My mom, aunt and uncle have kept that up. I never get tired of decorating graves, hearing stories and reviewing the family tree.
It was also our last weekend with all the family together, so we did a little campout with the kids. It was a really fun time - some great pictures and stories to share later. Our new nightstands are amazing! Thanks a million, Joseph.
Finding a place to live
This was a difficult process. We were waiting on official word from the firm before we could actually apply for anything. Then we could only trust what we could find online - no time for an in-person house hunt. We think we've found a decent place for our first year there, then we can look around more.
Packing up the apartment
We got everything packed up and the movers came on Wednesday. Man, when you get everything you own into boxes, it sure does look like a lot. It's amazing that when you get it out of the boxes, you can find places to put everything. The apartment looks empty and lonely now. We're hoping that it gets delivered in Maryland as close to when Nick gets there as possible.
Time with family
Now that we've got everything moved out, we're trying to spend our time with family. Nick's sister went into the MTC last week, so we were able to see her and Nick's mom. We also spent several nights at my dad's house. Now we're with my mom for the weekend.
Nick will fly out on Tuesday morning. I'll drive out with my mom in 2-3 weeks. I'm sad that I'll miss starting this adventure together, miss his first day of work, miss seeing our apartment for the first time together, miss exploring our new neighborhood, etc. But, it was the best plan we could come up with.

Good luck! I'm sure Grandpa has LOVED having you guys live there! I sure hope someone greta moves in! I hope your apt is great etc.. Good luck! Can't wait to hear about your adventures and see your apt!
Good luck with the move! It sounds kind of crazy, but what a fun adventure you will have. I hope your apartment is good as well, what fun to try to pick from the Internet!
Fun times! Okay, so you live just over 2.5 hours from us (sounds better than saying just under 3 hours)! You are invited anytime you feel the urge to Philadelphia-ize yourselves :) Tony said to invite you to Thanksgiving if you're staying on the East Coast for that holiday (my husband's a big planner lol). Hopefully we'll see you soon!
Good luck with the move/drive. I am glad that your mom is going with you. You will have a blast. How are you moving the bunny?
