I was not very good at keeping up with my 'blogable' events this summer, so I thought that this week I would go back and review some of the fun things Nick and I did this summer. Here is the first installment:
9-Mile Canyon

One weekend this summer we went down to Price. Having lived there my whole life, I haven't been to very many of the sites to see there besides the museum and the Wavepool (both enough to keep a young girl busy during the summers!) In all the years I worked at Photo Quik, I saw hundreds of pictures come through of the petroglyphs at 9-Mile Canyon. Mom had never been there either, so we decided to take an afternoon to go see them.

We ended up having a great time, despite the miles of washboard dirt roads we endured. We followed the map and stopped at all the appropriate places. Even though the canyon is called 9-mile, it is more like 40 miles long. We didn't go too far into it because we didn't have all day, but we went far enough to see some great petroglyphs. It was really a great experience to see them in person. It is remarkable to me that they are still there for us to enjoy.

Vana showing off some of the art.

I'm really not sure how rocks like this manage to balance for so long-remarkable!

The beautiful Carbon County sky!

Ahhhh I love 9-Mile. We grew up in a pretty remarkable area! But it's too easy to take for granted.
