We have been having a great time in the Young Men/Young Women program the last couple of months. For the last few years, our ward hasn't done much to represent at the Stake Talent Show. Our presidency decided that would not happen again. This year everyone would participate. Erin was on the BYU Folkdance team in college, so she choreographed and taught the kids a Bollywood dance. I can't say enough about Erin and her talents in working with the youth.
I have to say that the Young Men especially impressed me. The younger boys weren't too excited to do the dance at first, but the older boys went into it with so much enthusiasm that the younger boys couldn't help but want to do it with them. The girls who didn't want to dance at first all changed their mind once they saw how much fun everyone else was having.
It was one of those experiences they will never forget doing as a youth and they pulled it off wonderfully. They were definitely one of the top performances of the night - and the only performance to include all the youth doing something together.

very cool! I loved the video :)
How fun!! My sister was on the BYU folkdance team too - she loved it. Anyway, I loved the video - it looked like they had fun. I especially liked the boy in the front when they all lined up, it looked like he had fun and he was animated. They all did a great job.
I wanna know where all the pretty scarves came from!
Looks like fun.
That is a LOT to teach! Pretty amazing!
I am tending Sarah and I showed her the video of the ymyw dancing and we have now watched it 4 times. She keeps saying lets watch it again. The did a good job.
I love it! I wish we could get the kids in our ward to do something like this, but they are all just so SHY!
That was awesome! I've seen some Bollywood films, but I never imagined doing a musical number out of one. I bet that was hilarious learning one.
