Utah Trip: Part 1

I've been avoiding blogging because I was in Utah for a month, and it's so much work to catch up, but I'm officially ready to tackle it.

First up was Kamdyn's heart surgery. He was born with a hole in his heart, and it was slowly getting larger. They did open heart surgery at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake.
He was very brave. The saddest part was seeing him ride away in the wagon with a big grin on his face, then see him only hours later in the hospital bed, all tied up with tubes and wires feeling really bad and not knowing why.
They had a bit of a scare the first night when his throat swelled and he stopped breathing, but once they got through that night, he was ready to get out of there.

They released him 48-hours after surgery and boy did they ever have a tough time keeping him down once he got back home. There was an instant change in his energy level with the increased blood flow.
Here he is showing off his incision the day he was released.
About two weeks later it was healing quite nicely.

Birthday Celebrations!
All three of the boys have birthdays in July, and we got to celebrate with Dallan and Ryan while we were all together. What better place to go than Chuck E Cheese's!
The birthday boys were SO excited!
Dallan and Grandma playing air hockey.
Ryan and Grandma shootin' hoops.
Owen making sure mom was watching him ride the roller coaster.
Emmy riding with a puppy.

The adults had fun, too! Jenn and I had a virtual jump roping contest.
She was the winner.

Present time!
Dallan loved his Etch A Sketch.Everyone likes to help open presents.
Ryan's favorite candy bar!
Checkin' out the secret code book.

4th of July!
Dallan had me folding swan paper airplanes for him, and he wanted to see if one could swim.
We did sparklers in the front yard, and I wanted a picture of Dallan holding two up. This was the first picture.
Then I tried to get him to open his eyes, but he was convinced that his eyes would get burned and he started to cry.
Some birthday picture, huh?
