We had a fun New Years weekend. Nick's cousins drove down from Philly to stay with us. David and Bethany went to the Temple while I played with their cute girls. Then Bethany and I were off to the fabric stores! Sadly, the quilt shop was closed, but at JoAnn's we were able to find fabric for a quilt for Madeline. I also picked up some fabric for a few small projects. Even Gigi got to pick out some fabric to make a doll blanket. Oh how we love fabric : )
That night we had pizza, then they went to see the Festival of Lights and a Chinese dance troupe show at the Temple. Nick had some work to finish up, and I had some Kohl's cash to spend before it expired.
We put the kids to bed and enjoyed some Martinelli's while we watched the ball drop.
On New Year's Day the plan was to play games all day long. We didn't quite do that, but the men talked and talked, the girls played and played, and we ate and ate!
Madeline was scared of petting Daphne the whole first day, but then she discovered that her tail was very soft. Then she was brave enough to try petting her on the head, and couldn't get enough!
I finally broke out my new sewing machine and sewed up two PINK doll blankets for Gigi and Madeline. They were a hit.
Gigi gave us a little violin concert.
We played some Wii games and card/dice games.
Before we knew it, the day was over.
Thanks for coming and helping us ring in the new year.
We had a great weekend!
