69 years ago, on December 23, 1941, two of the greatest people in the world were married.
They met each other when Grandpa was working in Helper at the JC Penney store. He fit Grandma for a new pair of shoes and was so smitten he asked her out on a date. He used to hitch a ride down to Orangeville to see her on the weekends.
When he was in the Army, he was able to get a three-day leave to come home in order to get married. The rest is history!

I am realizing now how much I relied on being close to Grandpa's for photos and stories. This is the only picture I have of the two of them. Obviously it isn't their wedding photo : )
Grandma has been gone now for 14 years. It's hard to believe, because her spirit and memory is still alive in all of her family. I know that Grandpa misses her very much.

We love you Grandma and Grandpa!

Cure post! Happy anniversary to them!
Happy Anniversary to them! I'm trying to find wedding photos---or at least young photos---of all my grandparents to frame and put in my house. They're not super common and it's been hard!
What a cute way to meet... it sounds like a movie:).
