As I stated in a previous post, I got tired of the navy blue shade on this lamp. I remember seeing the idea in a magazine of wrapping a shade in ribbon to give it a new look.
I searched my now-overflowing ribbon boxes and chose a cream and red floral pattern.
I used glue dots to secure the ribbon to the inside of the shade, then started wrapping it, overlapping each layer.
I used approximately 7 yards of ribbon.
Since the ribbon only cost me $1.20, I estimate that the project cost me a whole 75 cents!

I like the softer look of the lamp, but it didn't look right in the living room after the change, so I swapped it with a lamp downstairs and it is looking great in its new home.

Emily! I need to do that too, but FIRST I need to visit you and go to the ribbon outlet :-) Thanks for sharing so much from you life. I love you and Nick LOTS and your blog helps me stay connected!
It looks so smooth. I would bodge that with that angle.
Wow - it looks amazing! Don't you love those teeny, inexpensive little projects that make a huge difference? And good work already finding a use for some of your endless supply of ribbon. :)
