It's time to say goodbye, old friend. We are sad to be losing you : (
You have made countless trips from California, to Utah and back again.
You persevered through not just one, but two cross-country journeys.
We have relied on you for so long. I guess it's your time for a well deserved rest.
Although we knew it was only a matter of time, we hoped it would be further down the road. The signs started last night on my way to the church, and today at the mechanics, Max's imminent death was announced. His engine has too many problems to repair. He's got just enough steam left to make his last journey to the car graveyard (cross your fingers). You have made countless trips from California, to Utah and back again.

So begins our search for another car. Thankfully we live within a tolerable walk to a grocery store and have ward member neighbors we can get rides with when necessary. I guess that scenic drive to see the fall leaves will have to be passed up this year.
I would love to know what cars any of you drive and your likes/dislikes about them, since we need to narrow our search one way or another. Any other car buying tips you may have would be greatly appreciated.

we love our little Elantra. Bought a 2004 and haven't have ANY trouble with it at all. We have stuck to the scheduled maintenance (recently replaced the timing belt) and its hard on tires, but otherwise we love it. :) I have a friend who LOVES her Ford Fusion too... but that as much as I know about it.
We have a 2003 Honda Civic that has been awesome. We haven't had any problems with it. We love our Tahoe too but I don't think that is what you are looking for.
My dream vehicle is Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ben's is a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
That's sad. I am all for HONDA's as well! They get great gas mileage and are good looking and cheap to fix if they ever break and they last forever! John's 2003 Accord has over 120,000 miles on it and is great. He did have to get a new transmission recently but that's expected with how many miles was on it. My civic has like 99,000 miles on it and is still going strong! God luck!
What happened to your car?
We loved our Honda Accord and the people that bought it are still driving it with no major problems.
We also had the little red Elantra that Natalie drove. and now tylers mom is driving it. It has been a really good car.
We love LOVE our Honda Accord 2006. Bought it at CarSense, which is a no-haggle dealership up here. They have great engine warrantee for the entire time you own the car as long as you use quaker state oil and get an oil change every 3 months. We still miss our Jeep Grand Cherokee, though. Sad sad day when we had to leave it as a trade-in. Good luck, guys!!
I LOVE my car. It's a Subaru Outback and while I used to absolutely loathe driving in the snow, I don't mind it now. It drives like a dream in the snow, even handling when my friends 4-wheel drive SUV's were spinning out. I also love the hatchback, which is great for groceries, etc. However, it is hard for taller people with carseats (Sam is 6'4"), because it is hard to put the two carseats in and then put the seats all the way back. But, I'm sure that a lot of cars are that way. We are also team Honda fans and had two Hondas before this car.
