On day 3 we:

Left the house with lots of energy . . .
Rode the loooooong escalator down to the metro . . .
Saw signs that we'd made it to the Nation's Capitol . . .
The White House was smaller than they thought it would be . . .

Rode to the top of the Washington Monument . . .
We saw the reflection pool, Lincoln Memorial, etc. . . .And the White House (Nick's office is also there somewhere) . . .
Even the LDS Temple back there in the trees . . .
Don't forget the Capitol . . .
Next stop was the World War II Memorial . . .
Wait - can you tell who I'm walking past?
Still don't recognize them?
It's the Duggar family from the TLC show 19 Kids and Counting. That was pretty crazy.
We talked a bit with their cute cousin, who gave us a picture of their family. Not the typical DC souvenir, eh?
Today's favorite destination was the Lincoln Memorial . . .
There is something special about Abraham Lincoln and all that transpired during his Presidency. You are able to feel the weight of it here.
We saw the Museum of American History which included . . .
The flag that inspired The Star Spangled Banner (sorry, no photos allowed).
Dresses of the First Ladies . . .
Kermit the Frog (I'll never tire of taking pictures of him!) . . .
There was also the Museum of Natural History . . .
How do giraffes do that . . .
This diamond and turquoise crown was a wedding gift from Napoleon to his bride Empress Marie-Louise . . .

Our last stop was the National Archives to view the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the United States of America. Amazing stuff.

Now we are exhausted and are going to bed.
