It is amazing how hard it is to live without the internet these days. We FINALLY got ours hooked up today - Yippee!!
There is so much to blog, so expect lots of posts after I spend a day or two catching up on my long list of things to look up and getting my pictures on the computer.
A little bit of info (since I know you're all so very interested).
* Maryland is gorgeous.
* We started learning our way around, then our car died.
* The ward is great. We have been taken under the wing of several families.
* The weather is HOT. Not quite as humid as I thought it would be, but apparently this last week has been mild for this time of year.
* The townhouse is fabulous (or at least it will be once we can get the boxes unpacked and really settle in).
* Daphne spent a week acting really weird and slightly aggressive, but seems to be perking out of it. There are many wild bunnies hopping about outside (so cute), and she can't wait to go out and make new friends.

No, the projects never end. While I have a few off the list, I still have a rocking chair to repad/upholstery, a desk chair to repad/upholster, a t-shirt quilt to finish, a 2nd mini playhouse, my 4-H ribbons quilt to make, the major living areas of the house to paint, a play kitchen to build (for Allison's birthday... in 2 and a half weeks! EEK!)... plus I'd like to pull out some of the ulgy bushes in front of the house this fall (and replace the with something not ugly in the spring), fence in our yard, customize our decor (read: paint and decorate the rooms not included in the "main living areas"), build a new bed... not to mention to stack of pictures BEGGING for scrapbook pages to put them on. Not... it never ends. I've enjoyed seeing your projects too. Hope to see more one you get settled. :) Glad your ward is friendly and welcoming... we found the same thing when we moved out east too.
Hope you're keeping cool in the crazy heat (we've got it too... not quite as bad since we're further North, but still hot... with no AC!)
Oh, and this last week hasn't be mild... I don't think. MAJOR heat wave. Up in Syracuse we're 15-20 degrees about normal. Maybe Maryland is super different... I don't know. But all I keep hearing about is the current heat wave.
I'm glad you made it! Thanks for waving to Iowa as you drove past. :) Good luck with the unpacking. (I feel your pain)!
Unpacking is A LOT of work, but I definitely think it's WAY better than packing. It's a lot more fun to decide where things go and to plan things out:)... at least in my opinion anyway:).
I cannot wait to see more pics and with your amazing decorating skills I'm sure your already fabulous townhouse will be even MORE fabulous:)!
So fun. Glad all is well! I just use Photoshop and I have some digital paper that I added under the photos. Hope you had a good holiday!
I'm so glad you like it out there! I can't wait to hear about everything!
It's weird to me that you're all grown up and living out in Maryland. When did that happen?
Did you practice packing for your move? Cuz I can imagine that practice packing for your whole house wouldn't be entirely productive.
Do you know what movie was on Disney channel today? The Lizzie McGuire movie. Do you remember when we went to see that together? Just to give you an idea, it was my 19th birthday! Nineteenth!!! Seems like forever ago. I guess it WAS forever ago.
Good luck settling in. I'll try harder to keep in touch cuz we both know I'm lacking in that skill:)
I can't handle dry heat let alone humid. Hope the rest of the summer stays mild.
I don't envy the humidity. It is awful!
As for us...yes jack has been teething for a while (supposedly- nothing has yet to come through), he had a little cold (hence the breathing treatment and antibiotic) and thrush (a REALLY bad/sore/won't go away diaper rash and a sore mouth- which makes eating hard). So yes...we have it all :) The crying it out was - he wasn't sleeping very good (up 4 times in the night at 5 months...not great. So we were letting him cry it out and not going in whenever he got up in the night. Then he got sick, which put that on the back burner. But things are getting MUCH better now.
