A new MUST-SEE show

If you didn't see the premier of this show last Friday night, you should definitely

to watch the first episode. Then plan on tuning in every
Friday night on NBC, 7:00 MST.

I've been looking forward to watching the pilot, and I was not disappointed! On the show, they take celebrities and explore their genealogy. I think they did a great job of making it a personal story about exploring parts of their family tree that no family member knew very much about.

The first episode featured Sarah Jessica Parker. They started with her talking to her mom about family history and what she knew. When they found a family name she didn't know much about, that's where Sarah Jessica started to dig. She met with genealogists, librarians, historians, etc. to uncover more family members and find out what types of events they were involved in or experienced during their life.

I think it is always touching to see how anyone can bond with ancestors no matter how far back you go. If you really put yourself into searching, you will learn their names and their history. It is so important, and I'm glad that there's finally something on prime-time TV that can inspire people to explore more of their family history. I know it has for me. If nothing else, it helped me to see where they went when they hit a dead end or needed more information, and also what types of documents to look for in my own future searches.

* I couldn't get the video to play with Firefox, but it worked fine with Explorer.
