The year of many Christmases

This year is a little different for Nick and me. We are currently in CA spending Christmas with Nick's family. Since we couldn't take our gifts on the plane, we had an early Christmas before we came out here. We'll have Christmas here, then with my dad when we get back. Good times!

Unfortunately, we forgot to bring our camera cord to hook to the computer, so we'll have to have a big post in January to actually show pictures of what we've done and what we got for Christmas!

Here are some internet pictures to go along with some of the CA fun we've been having so far:
Last week Marisa took me and Nick to the quilt museum. Their showcase was crazy quilts. They were very interesting to look at. Most were from the late 1800's/early 1900's. It's amazing the time that went into the hand-detail work.

Monday night was caroling, caroling, caroling! With 7 people singing, it actually sounded really great. We spent most of the day making cookies. YUM!

Between cookies, we went with Nick to the CA State Courthouse and saw him sworn in as an official attorney. It's no joke people, he can really practice law now (well, if we lived in CA that is!) We're all proud of you, Nick.

Last night? The Las Vegas Bowl game, of course. Thanks to the Yoshimoto family for offering your house, TV and cable : ) It was an awesome game. Go Cougars!!!

Today was gingerbread houses with the Skinner family (an 18-year tradition). This is only maybe the 2nd or 3rd time I've been part of house-making. Usually I just give up and eat candy, but this year I was proud of my creation (not pictured above). We had a great time and ate lots of candy!
Tonight is the Nutcraker Ballet. I can't wait!

After that, it's Christmas Eve activities (family concert, reading the Christmas story . . . ), then Christmas Day activities (stockings, presents, sports . . . ), then who knows what (hopefully some ice skating!) More to come after the New Year.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

You guys were busy. I imagine it wasn't even cold caroling in California.
