And now for a long overdue update!

The last month+ has been filled with both great and not so great.

Nick enjoyed his 3 weeks with no school. I was very proud of him for really relaxing and enjoying his time off! We had a lot of fun together. During the last week off, he spent a whole week at my mom's house helping with some repairs. Then we enjoyed a fun weekend with all of the family there while Nick and Joe tiled around mom's tub. Nick learned a lot and the results look great!
Uncle Floyd also took us and Jenn's family to Antelope Island where we enjoyed seeing lots of animals, and were also attacked by scalp-biting bugs. We were all itching for a week!
The bummer part of that week was when we got a call from the firm Nick was supposed to work for. It turns out that they pushed his start date back until 2010. Yikes! So, we are left with the choice of finding something to do for a year and hope that they still have a position for him next year, or try to find a new position somewhere else now.

While Nick started the Bar exam prep course, I finished my last week of teaching. I already had my classroom mostly cleaned up, so all I had to do was find something to entertain the few kids who actually showed up. Thursday of that week was graduation. It was really strange to dress up and go as a teacher instead of a student. An interesting experience. That night was the senior all-night party. It turned out okay, but I had to work the next day and ended up being awake for 31 hours straight. NOT my idea of fun.
During June, Nick has been attending class every day, studying, and applying for clerkships for the next year (we could use some extra prayers that he'll get one). I have been sleeping in, watching movies, reading books, visiting family in Price, visiting friends & hanging out with my dad in Grand Junction, painting our apartment, catching up on housework, and actually cooking!

Wow Em, awesome update. My mom was telling me about the dilema with Nick's job, I hope it all works out!! We're praying for ya! Your mom's bathroom looks good, I bet she loves having that done! And impressive cooking skills, they look great!

It looks like we aren't the only ones crazy busy so far this summer! I love the bathroom!

So Michael and Kristen are our friends!! Michael is from Green River so he and Sy grew up together. Michael and Sy's brother Bo are best friends. They are such a cute family! Small world, huh?

That is a bummer about Nicks work. Your pie looks delicious I think I will invite myself over sometime to have some. Maybe when we were single it was Michelle who kept us always going. That girl just can't stop.

Loved the update and loved seeing you in price. Everything with Nicks job will work out. Whether you do something different or wait until October...it will work out in the end. Maybe this means that you can visit Vegas before heading out there!! :) Yea!! :)

We've been praying for you guys! We're already nervous about the job situation. I'm glad you have been able to enjoy some relaxation time. BTW the food looks awesome! The tiling looks great too. I still remember enlisting Nick's help with my parent's basement. Thanks again Nick :)

2010...wow! I'm sure it will be okay to have a year of clerk work.

Way to go Em! I'm totally proud of you...I remember the feeling well of not having enough time after work to cook or clean cause you're too tired! It's much easier to do it in the morning while you're fresh, but unfortunately again...the whole work thing! Anyway...hopefully Nick will be able to find something for the next year. We'll keep you in our prayers.
