Congratulations Nick!
This weekend was Nick's graduation from Law School. We had a wonderful time, but have been so busy that we are behind on sorting pictures, so watch later this week for more photos of the events.

The graduation ceremonies were wonderful and we are all so proud of his accomplishments! Thank you to all who were able to come and celebrate with us, it was great to share this weekend with you.

Stay tuned for more on:

April Fun
On Easter Sunday, Nick and I had a WONDERFUL dinner with Dad & Dedee. They cooked the biggest ham I've ever seen in my life! For dessert, Nick and I made these festive little cupcakes. They tasted like mounds, with the dark chocolate and coconut.

On Monday I didn't have to work, and I'm trying to stay out of Nick's hair while he studies for finals. So, I called up Jenn to see if she wanted to take the kids and walk around the Gateway Mall for a while. We shopped a little, ate really big cookies, and got a little more than our fingers wet in the fountain!
On a sadder note, several weeks ago our car was in a bit of an accident. Here is the soon-to-be-gone dent : (

A Candle Curiosity
One day during the winter months, I noticed that something strange had happened to a candle in Grandpa's living room. Grandpa loves to have his fireplace going any time that it seems cold outside. With that constant heat along with the heater being on, the candle eventually couldn't take it and just slumped over with exhaustion! We should probably replace it, but it's such a great conversation piece that we haven't been able to let it go yet.

DVD Storage
Since Nick and I aren't in a place in life where it makes sense to buy much real furniture, we have some major storage issues. One that has been bugging me for a while is DVDs. I LOVE movies, but I don't love seeing them piled up everywhere creating a cluttered look on our bookshelf and every drawer we could stuff them in! I have organized and re-organized them about 20 times in the last year trying to find a set up that would work.

So, I have been shopping around for a long time to find a good storage solution. I finally found a great sale on a case that looked just right for what I wanted. They are from the Case Logic's Home Collection and are usually $25, but I got them on sale for $11 a piece on Amazon.com after Christmas! For some reason they list the brown cases as being only 64 capacity, so I bought two, but they really were the 96 capacity. They look great on the shelf and hold all our movies and TV series with room to spare. These are great because grandpa's house is old and VERY dusty. The cases with zippers didn't look nice enough to be displayed, but the regular books didn't protect much from the dust. These are books that slide into leather-covered cases so we get the best of both! I just boxed up the cases and have them tucked out of the way.
Here are most of our movies before:
Here are our movies now:
*A tip I ran across for those of you with kids who love getting into the movies and end up scratching them or losing them. Put the DVDs in a case like this that you can keep out of reach, then put the DVD covers in another book that you can keep on their level. When the kids want to watch a movie, they can flip through the pictures to choose the one they want, and you can get the DVD for them.

Grand Junction
Last weekend Nick and I went to Price and worked more on mom's house. While Nick worked on fixing some cracks in the walls, I took down the border in her small bathroom. We ended up re-painting the whole bathroom. It now looks clean and fresh. We bought a new mirror, hand towel holder, etc. It was a fun project. The pictures are on mom's camera, so I'll post them sometime later.

Sunday we drove over to Grand Junction for Meg's baby blessing. It was so nice of Nicole & Tristan to invite us. We just love them and their families, and we were happy to celebrate Meg's special day. She is such a cute baby!

There were a lot of tumble weeds on the road. We saw a car with one stuck to the front and thought it was funny. Little did we know that we were also driving around with one stuck to the front of our car!
